Last year, Springer Glen decided to celebrate our tenth anniversary in his own way – by cycling 10,000 miles. He accomplished most of this with his daily commute, supplemented by club riding and hill climbing from the top 100 hill climb book.

A familiar sight around the winding country lanes coming into Southwold, Glen makes every commuting journey slightly different and avoids the A12. He often cycles with his dad or brother, and celebrates a good journey with a fast spin out to the Harbour.

The 10,000 miles that Glen cycled throughout the year is the equivalent to 42% of the Earth’s circumference, while the 218,310 feet of elevation gain he achieved on his 2016 rides can be compared to 7 Mount Everests! A pretty impressive feat in the UK’s flattest region…
